EECO History

Elevator Equipment Corporation History

Elevator Equipment Corporation (EECO) was founded in 1946 as Elevator Equipment Company and manufactured and sold single function valves and jack units. Through the years EECO also developed and began manufacturing unit valves, power units, switches, and other components used in the installation of hydraulic elevators. The industry standard UV-5A and UV-7B hydraulic unit valves are manufactured and assembled in our original plant in California, where jack units, hatchway switches, car slings, platforms and other various support products are also produced.

Since it's beginnings in Los Angeles, California, EECO has expanded into facilities in Richmond, Indiana. Now, our modern 100,000 square foot Indiana plant manufactures jacks, power units, car slings and platforms, and other mechanical and structural items, including the new UV-4R control valve for residential/LULA and low flow applications. EECO is pleased to list all major elevator companies as customers. EECO components have been furnished to these companies for installation in projects throughout the U.S. and Canada and in many European, South American, Asian and other countries as well.

Mounted directly onto the main jack connection, the Pipe Rupture Valve (PRV) is simple to adjust and extremely reliable in operation. Should an overspeed of the elevator occur, the damped closing of the PRV ensures a quick but smooth slowdown of the car. Slowing to a stop is standard; slowing to a down creep speed is optional.
Grooved or NPT straight through line connections enable the customer to attach the PRV to the existing cylinder and pressure line connections in the shortest possible installation time.

These Coil kits are an addition to the valve.
Contains: Coils, Coil Covers, Cover Grommets, Labels, Conduit Plate, Grommet, Screw
NOTE: When a coil kit is sold with a valve the price is reduced for all UV-5AT(C) and UV-5BT(C) valves.

The standard EECO UV-5AT Compensated hydraulic elevator control valve offers Temperature Compensation over its entire operational temperature range (80 to 150 degrees F).
Modifications to the valve body and internal parts have drastically simplified down adjustments and made it the quietest valve on the market. The UV-5AT is available with either 2" NPT or optional grooved connections for all three ports. The UV-5AT is also available with a right hand jack port.

The optional EECO UV-5ATC Compensated hydraulic control valve is an optional configuration of our popular UV-5AT valve. The UV-5ATC offers both Temperature Compensation over its entire operational temperature range (80 to 150 degrees F) as well as Pressure Compensation which maintains Constant Down Speed between no load and full load conditions. The UV-5ATC is also available with a right hand jack port.

The standard EECO UV-7B control valve is designed for applications where pressure requirements are between 50 - 500 psi (3.5 - 34.5 Bars) with flow rates of 75 to 375 GPM (285 - 1419.5 l/min).
All EECO valves manufactured since January 2001 contain high temperature Viton seals throughout as a standard feature.

The UV-7B hydraulic control valve performs all the necessary functions for the operation of a hydraulic elevator in
both directions of travel. The UV-7B is the ideal solution for low pressure, high flow rate applications. The UV-7B is
capable of handling flow rates of 105 to 375 gpm.
The optional UV-7BC also offers Pressure Compensation for constant down speed control.
This modification of the down piston assembly delivers constant Down Speed Control
between no load and full load conditions.

The Grooved Adapter Short was designed to convert the Jack and Pump port of the
UV-7B, & UV-7BC control valve from the standard NPT. This adapter threads directly
into each port.

The Grooved Adapter Long was designed to convert the Tank port of the UV-7B, & UV-7BC control valve from the standard NPT. This adapter is installed using the existing pump port flange and hardware.

Used with the UV-7B & UV-7BC Control valves, this Pressure Gauge Fitting & Low Pressure Switch System is used to provide a
means of attaching a Pressure gauge to the control valve. It is provided with a 1/8
brass shut off valve and a male quick disconnect fitting and a low pressure switch.
The option of a N.O or N.O./N.C switch is available. Click Here for details.
Individual fittings can be purchased to create your own arrangements.
See page 75 for more details. Part No. 5707.

Note: This product does not include the Liquid Filled Pressure Gauge Assembly.
